Foundation Mixes (FND)

Mixes designed to withstand ground conditions containing chemicals

Key Points on Foundation Mixes

  • FND mixes are designed to provide appropriate resistance to chemicals found in the ground - mainly Sulfates.
  • These mixes are used in foundation applications
  • FND mixes have specified minimum cement contents and water cement ratios as well as being available in only one cement type.
  • Engineers will analyse the soil and report back the required chemical resistance needed using a DC value. This DC value will denote the FND mix you need.
  • DC3 level = FND3 concrete mix

FND2 Concrete

FND mixes are designed to provide appropriate resistance to chemicals found in the ground - mainly Sulfates. These mixes are mainly used on brown field sites.

Applications:

  • Foundations
  • Footings

FND3 Concrete

FND mixes are designed to provide appropriate resistance to chemicals found in the ground - mainly Sulfates. These mixes are mainly used on brown field sites.

An FND3 mix offers slightly more strength and higher chemical resistance when compared to the FND2.

Applications:

  • Foundations
  • Footings

FND4 Concrete

FND mixes are designed to provide appropriate resistance to chemicals found in the ground - mainly Sulfates. These mixes are mainly used on brown field sites.

An FND4 mix offers more strength and higher chemical resistance when compared to the FND2 and FND3.

Applications:

  • Foundations
  • Footings
