Key Points on Standard Mixes 

  • Our quality Standard Concrete Mixes are designed with a set cement contents as defined in BS 8500-2 but with no guaranteed design strength
  • ST mixes are good for applications that require a firm base but no structural strength 
  • ST mixes consist of cement, water, stone and graded sand
  • This type of concrete mix is used in a range of applications due to the mixes pre-defined attributes.

ST1 Concrete

A low strength 'lean mix' used for non-structural domestic and commercial projects.

Applications:

  • Kerb or Edge bedding
  • Blinding

 

ST2 Concrete

Used widely in the construction industry for non-reinforced foundations and slab bases for houses and extensions.

Applications:

  • Blinding - internal floors
  • Filling around fence posts
  • Drainage edging

ST3 Concrete

Good for domestic applications.

ST3 is a fairly wet mix making it popular for a variety of DIY projects where a finish on the concrete is not a main concern. 

Applications:

  • Internal floor slab
  • Filling around fence posts
  • Drainage edging

ST4 Concrete

Popular for domestic applications.

ST4 is a wet mix making it good for a variety of DIY projects where a finish on the concrete is not a main concern. 

Applications:

  • Non-reinforced garage floor slab
  • Non-reinforced bases for workshops
