Concrete mix volume guide

Measurements can be a real hassle when laying concrete - and if not done correctly, the results can be far from those expected for your building project!

For example, when using feet to enter dimensions you must enter 10 feet x 6 feet x 0.5 feet (for 6 inches). It is not possible to enter 6 for depth as this will calculate 6 feet not 6 inches.

We realise this can be confusing, so to help you convert inches for depth into feet please see the information below. It is important that you insert the decimal when entering the measurement e.g. 0.17 not 17.

1 inch = 0.09 feet
2 inches = 0.17 feet
3 inches = 0.25 feet

4 inches = 0.34 feet
5 inches = 0.42 feet
6 inches = 0.5 feet
7 inches = 0.59 feet
8 inches = 0.67 feet
9 inches = 0.75 feet
10 inches = 0.84 feet
11 inches = 0.92 feet

This same principle applies when dealing in metric. If you enter your first two measurements, (for example, 5 metres x 3 metres) and your depth is 6 inches or 150mm, you would enter this as 5m x 4m x 0.150 = 2.3 cubic metres.
